The New Resistance
is an 8-part documentary series from VICE World News following the next generation of activists.
Featuring eight incredible young subjects ranging from age 14 to 20 years old, the series weaves stories from across the globe together to paint a hopeful picture of the future of activism.
The New Resistance immediately catapults the audience into the daily lives of its cast members through a unique docu-reality format, putting the viewer shoulder-to-shoulder with the activists as they plan and execute their next grassroots move.
The series was shot in 2020 in various locations stateside and abroad, including Utah, South Dakota, Tennessee, Germany, Nigeria, Lebanon, and New Zealand.
From climate activists meeting with political world leaders to LGBTQ+ rights advocates asking teachers to create a safe space in classrooms, the series makes clear what’s most important to the next generation: a clean planet that’s safe and equitable for all. Watch as these impressive young people fight for their causes, organize protests, raise awareness, change legislation, and vote.
